General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Advanced Weapon System Software Build Manager to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to deliver end-to-end solutions in configuration management, product development and productivity. Key Responsibilities

Advanced Weapon System Software Build Managers are responsible for developing and maintaining configuration management tools and supporting configuration identification, control, reporting, release and delivery of products and systems. This employee will perform configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new product operating parameters are documented, comply with standards and are logistically sustainable. The work also involves designing, developing, automating and maintaining productivity tools. Additionally, the Advanced Weapon System Software Build Manager will design and implement build procedures to aid in product creation and use. The development of internal configuration standards and training others to use configuration management tools may also be required.

The Advanced Weapon System Software Build Manager will be responsible for the tasks listed below.

  • Building configured software for delivery to customer

  • Receiving software for various programs

  • Maintaining inventory of deliverables

  • Responding to software media requests

  • Managing COTS software and license artifacts

  • Developing and maintaining library processes and procedures

  • Enforcing CM policies and practices

Additional Responsibilities

  • Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance

  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs

  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the General Dynamics Mission Systems culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures

  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices

  • Demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of configuration management

  • Demonstrate proficiency with Unix/Linux

  • Work well in a team environment including forming strong working relationships with program leadership

  • Utilize strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite to provide status accounting and metrics

Candidates must show a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of configuration management, expertise in productivity tools and procedures, and the ability to effectively manage, grow and evolve General Dynamics Mission Systems product development and systems.

The Advanced Weapon System Software Build Manager position requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Computer Engineering (CPE), or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience and at least ten to fourteen years of related work experience. Applicants with a masters degree and a minimum of eight to twelve years of related experience are also eligible.

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
