General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Advanced Systems Engineer to join our Physical Security Systems Engineering team as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various General Dynamics Mission Systems and client technologies. Key Responsibilities
The Physical Security Systems IPT Lead is responsible for leading a cross functional team in the design, test, and implementation of a project. He or she will perform all planning and must ensure the project remains within budget and schedule. The IPT Lead must work closely with engineering leadership, program management, and the customer to ensure the design is in line with the program technical vision and meets all requirements. Some travel is associated with this role to support customer meetings and provide oversight as needed to execution on-site. Other responsibilities include formulating operational concepts; performing mission, functional, cost-benefit and risk analysis; selecting systems architecture; and preparing specifications for General Dynamics Mission Systems operating systems to ensure designs meet applicable security specifications. These individuals may also be asked to document security on both new and fielded information systems or provide accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features are considered and functioning properly.

  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the General Dynamics Mission Systems culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures

  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices

Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology.

The Advanced Systems Engineer position requires a bachelor's degree in a technical field, preferably Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Math and at least five to eight years of related work experience. Applicants with a master's degree and a minimum of three to five years of related experience are also eligible.

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Due to the recent surge in our staffing needs, this position can also be performed out of Pittsfield, MA.
