The Company - Maintenance Engineer

My client is part of a world leading technology group with representation in over one hundred countries worldwide and an enviable product portfolio which incorporates domestic, commercial, industrial, medical and corporate sectors. Their business is built upon substantial investment in 'start of the art' manufacturing facilities, innovative product development, the recruitment of good people and a long term commitment to Research and Development.

The Role - Maintenance Engineer

This market-leader is now seeking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer. Full responsibilities include:

1: Conduct your work activity to ensure that the building meets relevant health and safety requirements and that the facilities and services comply with legislation and applicable statutory requirements, through the delivery of scheduled PPM service activities

2: Ensure that all relevant PPM documentation is kept up to date and compliant to SFG20 standards and procedures, satisfying all potential audit inspections

3: To liaise with 3rd party contractors in providing quotations and solutions to PPM and reactive maintenance activities

4: To deliver additional minor works and general site maintenance tasks, such as; partitioning repairs, painting, decorating, cleaning, floor laying, basic civils including drilling and fixing etc

5: To be point of contact (and resolution) for all major and minor power outages on site and to liaise with relevant service provides to resolve emergency power issues

6: To provide additional support to all facility team members in delivering the facility services

7: To carry out semi-skilled services (handyman activities) as and when required within your trained remit to H&S legislation and approved codes of practice.

8: To manage the facility store areas and ensure that all relevant tooling and materials are available to conduct the PPM activities and to cover the majority of reactive works

9: To operate within the Siemens 'permit to work' system for all facility related


10: To be part of the 'out of hours' call-out support team (on a rotational basis)

Your Background - Maintenance Engineer

To be considered for this excellent role, you should be able to demonstrate the following experience:

1: Experience of PPM and reactive works within a similar environment

2: To have excellent general electrical and mechanical knowledge of facility plant and equipment, with superb fault finding skills and abilities

3: Strong knowledge of statutory mechanical and electrical requirements for facility plant and equipment

4: Good customer service experience preferably with an emphasis on dealing with customers (and contractors) both face to face, and over the phone

5: City & Guild qualification (or equivalent) in one or more of the following disciplines; Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plant Engineering and Electronics Engineering

6: Strong knowledge and fault finding skills of AHU / air conditioning systems and to carry out relevant repairs and general PPM activities would be an advantage
