Maintenance Technician required by manufacturing company supplying the leisure marine industry based in Watchmead, nr Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. Salary £20,000 - £25,000 depending on skills and experience.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a practical individual with maintenance experience to join a well-established small manufacturing company exporting its own branded items worldwide. You will work on a wide variety of plant and machinery, making this a varied and interesting role. The ability to weld, drive a forklift truck and have electrical and pneumatic experience would be highly desirable. Attitude and ability are more important than paper qualification. You will consider yourself a practical person, self-managing, enjoy solving problems and happy to get your hands dirty if required. Maintenance jobs vary in a typical week from fixing a sticking fire door to changing lights from fluorescent to LED to servicing paint spray gun to repairing an injection moulding water temperature controller

-Carry out planned maintenance across the factory regarding machinery and the building.
-Update records of work activities and the tasks carried out.
-Respond to and diagnose equipment breakdowns (both mechanical and electrical), resolving issues and carrying out repairs in an accurate, timely and safe manner.
-Help with installation of new equipment as and when it arrives.
-Complete monthly safety inspections.

Skills and Experience
-Have worked in a production environment and have basic knowledge of a variety of production processes.
-Be able to demonstrate the ability to analyse and solve problems.
-Know the limits of your ability and when we should call in specialists.
-Be able to impart knowledge effectively to others.
-Be able to organise your own work and to prioritise important tasks.
-Be able to work in a way that is safe for yourself and other people. This role involves some working at height using a variety of access equipment.

The ability to weld, drive a forklift truck and have electrical and pneumatic experience would be highly desirable
