Our client is taking the market by storm and are currently looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join the Design house team. This role offers fantastic career development within an established Manufacturing company.

Key Responsibilities of our Design Engineer

- Support the development of new and existing products and produce detailed functional designs using Autodesk design software to best practises

- Develop full product knowledge throughout the company range

- Be fully conversant with Autodesk Inventor and Vault systems and provide support and training to others. Experience in SolidWorks or similar considered

- Autodesk REVIT product BIM design and implementation

- Thermal modeling using THERM and associated calculations

- Provide technical support to colleagues and customers

- Strive to continuously improve products by contributing ideas and designs to the team and subsequent development as required

- Be fully conversant with Excel Office package including some VBA to develop autonomous manufacture from software

- Assist with the design and development of jigs, fixtures and fittings to improve production efficiency and consistency

- To take a leading role with the authoring and maintenance of all technical literature including work instructions, drawings and procedures

- Assist with the training of production operatives on new and existing products and ensure health and safety guidelines are adhered too

- Assist with any bespoke design development as required

- Supporting other departments with drawings, schedule information and updates and glass calculations;

- Supporting technical queries from customers

- Supporting purchasing with material specifications and speaking with suppliers

- Support the development of new and existing products and produce detailed functional designs using Autodesk design software to best practises

Skills and Experience required by the ideal Design & Support Engineer:


- Educated to HND or degree level in Mechanical Engineering or similar

- At least one years' experience working within an engineering role

- Experience with 2D and 3D CAD

- Must have excellent communication skills

- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications

- Must have a hands on approach to development

- Autonomous, personable and looking to further develop your career


- Experience with aluminium extrusions

- An understanding of structural calculations

- Experience in using Autodesk Inventor, Revit and Vault

- Experience in coding basic logic statements in Microsoft Excel

- Knowledge of FEA and structural calculations
