Health & Safety Manager |
Health and safety is paramount to the company's success therefore in this role it is essential role you'll drive the Health & Safety culture within the business. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, it will be up to you to improve the Health & Safety Culture and employee engagement, particularly in delivering Health & Safety Improvements such as working with managers to drive behavioural-based safety within the business.
In order to succeed in this role you'll have at least 3 years' manufacturing experience in a Health & Safety role preferably H&S Management. You will have a proven track record of implementing H&S strategies and behavioral-based safety in the workplace. Your professional qualifications and solid communication skills will provide the foundation in moving our H&S culture forward. You will already have good organization and leadership skills enabling you to easily engage employees at every level. You'll be a team-player, confident coaching managers and staff with all aspects of Health & Safety.
It will be your role to ensure that the requirements of all relevant Health & Safety legislation is implemented in accordance with our OSHAS 18001 Accreditation.
Knowledge of the following regulations is desired
* Health & Safety at Work act
* Manual Handling Regulations
THE ROLE SUMMARY
Working for a long established manufacturing site in Huddersfield.
You must have a minimum of the Nebosh General Certificate and practical experience of H&S in a fast paced manufacturing environment. You will have strong communication skills both in terms of verbal / presentation skills and written documentation. You must have the ability to maintain/ document accurate records within the H&S files / policy.
