An Asset Engineer with experience in an asset management background in either gas, electricity, water or rail is urgently required by the UK's leading Utility organisation. This exciting opportunity will be based at our clients head office in Warwick within the Asset Strategy team and will be reporting directly to the Asset Strategy & Performance Manager. This key role will involve looking after the long-term health and performance of our clients Gas Transmission Systems whilst demonstrating excellent asset management practice.|
The main purpose for this Asset Engineer role will be to develop asset management strategies and investment plans for the UK's national Gas Transmission network. You will be part of an established team that is responsible for setting strategy on assets to the value of circa £5billion and to determine investments plans up to £60million per year.
This position will have the following responsibilities and duties:
* Analyse and understand the condition, performance and whole life costs of above and below ground Gas Transmission Assets.
* Develop asset management strategies that optimise the whole life cost of ownership for a range of Gas Transmission Asset types.
* Develop risk based methods (comprising failure modes and consequences) to assess the investment needs across the Gas Transmission network.
* Develop strategic asset investment plans that demonstrate value through strategic options and scenario analysis.
* Preparation and presentation of business cases
* Develop clear and timely scopes of work to delivery units and monitor delivery against investment plans.
Our client is the sole owner and operator of the gas national transmission system in Great Britain and their key assets include pipelines, compressor stations and terminals across the UK. Ideally we are looking for an individual with an industry related background (Gas, Electricity, Water or Rail) in Asset Management and a HND qualification in a relevant engineering discipline would be very beneficial. Also an industry related membership to an appropriate professional body i.e. Institute of Asset Management would be advantageous as well as knowledge and practical experience of PAS55/ISO55000.
