Client - Large M&E Subcontractor
Position - 1 x Senior Mechanical Project Engineer
Salary - Up to £65k plus package
Location - Canary Wharf

Our client is an award-winning M&E subcontractor with projects all over the UK, with a turnover in the region of £200M p/a. Part of a larger group that is one of the largest family-owned businesses in Europe, this company is a market leader in lean delivery through use of its own Prefabrication arm and the collaborative efforts of some of the most forward-thinking professionals in the industry.

With a project portfolio reaching circa £100M in value within the London region. The business covers New Build, Refurbishment and Fit Out across the following sectors:

• Commercial
• Critical Environments
• Pharmaceutical
• Data Centres
• High End Residential
• Sports venues
• Fit Out
• Banking/Financial
• Education

They are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to manage from cradle to grave, the installation of services on large new commercial building in Canary Wharf. Project to run for the next two years so providing a sturdy place of work, currently in pre-construction.

The ideal candidate will be someone with rigorous attention to detail especially within Design and Procurement. You will also need to be able to work under pressure to a pace-orientated programme, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and in budget.

Project Value: circa £25 million Mechanical Only
Scope of works: Commercial - New office block

• Procurement of plant, materials, labour and sub-contractors
• Management of sub-contractors
• Implementing QA/QC procedures
• H&S Management
• General paperwork management; RFIs, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Site diaries, Project programmes, Snagging Lists, O&M Documentation, general correspondence between the client, contractors and design consultancies
• Compiling proposals for off-site manufacture
• Design reviews, onsite installation and general problem solving related to unforeseen issues related to the installation of services
• Management of the testing and commissioning of services
• Preparing the site for completion and client handover
• Liaising with the commercial team to conclude the final accounts

• Strong Technical Awareness
• Proven track record of delivering large scale projects for blue-chip M&E subcontractors
• Longevity at previous employers
• Ability to work to a tight programme
• Experience of delivering projects of at least £10M in M&E value
• Strong leadership: you will be in charge of keeping a large work force motivated to deliver the project to the highest standard
