Our client is a national award winning civil engineering contractor identified by most principal contractors as their contractor of choice when delivering major construction-based civil engineering packages. With major flagship projects within various sectors of industry across the UK, our client has arguably the best reputation in the sector they operate in.

They are always keen to grow their footprint in the London market by aligning themselves with key stakeholders in Energy, Build and Government. A key conduit in making this happen is their bidding team. Within that team, they are actively seeking a Pre-Construction Manager and Project Manager to join their young, ambitious team.

The Person

You will have a UK degree in Civil Engineering and have committed your career to developing your knowledge of the design, bidding and technical elements of securing civil engineering work. This includes attending courses in civil design, have a strong understanding and history of contributing towards the securing of civil engineering and structures projects, as well as the capability of forging links with local authorities, principal contractors, investment bodies and developers.

You should possess a full, rounded understanding of most 3D Modellings software used in creating and presenting bids and be able to bring each element of departments contributing towards a bid together seccessfully.

You will be an ambitious, highly driven professional with a keen eye on key sectors of civil engineering within Scotland.

Key Tasks and Activities:

Create and develop new Client and Consultant relationships through, day to day discussions, meetings, informal and formal networking events, conferences etc
Provide support to UK Regions Leadership Team with future Business Planning including research into key sectors, Clients and competitor analysis
Develop capture planning, bid strategies and win themes for future bids and opportunities
Contribute and or lead storyboarding and answer planning sessions with the bid team
Contribute to and/or take the lead in the preparation of Pre-Qualification documents, bids and presentations
Lead civils bid teams on selected opportunities. Ensure that bid documents are produced in a timely manner and to the highest standard from both a commercial and quality perspective
As required write bid submissions, marketing materials and other required documentation to achieve the necessary quality of documentation within agreed deadlines
Review and edit bid document responses from all contributors including operations, marketing, commercial, account managers, finance, legal and other departments
Ensure the quality and attractiveness of bids are maximised through challenging and testing the proposed strategy, technical reviews always ensuring that the Client's requirements have been met
Manage the internal governance process on each bid
Lead on the development of Client presentations
Actively seek feedback from Client teams following bid submission, capture and implement lessons learnt for continuous improvement on future bids
Assist submissions team in developing a library of local material suitable for future bids
Lead on event management including venue research, host and guest coordination
