The Melbourne-based Environment and Planning group is an enthusiastic and focused team with a mix of environment scientists, ecologists, planners and community engagement specialists, and we are seeking a driven individual to join our team. While at KBR you have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects including in the water, transport, natural resources, and government sectors. The group provides specialist services to projects for the water and transport industries, as well as undertaking its own scientific and technical investigations for clients. We currently have some significant roles on projects for Melbourne Water, Melbourne Metro Rail Authority and the Level Crossing Removal Authority, amongst other clients.

  • The Planner will provide technical support, write reports and plans, and participate in multi-disciplinary teams on a range of projects. The role will have a strong focus on Victoria and will likely comprise the following responsibilities:
  • Provide technical planning and environmental approvals advice to the Water and Transport business, including investigations, and preparation of planning application reports and submissions to regulators
  • Consult with stakeholders, in particular local government on planning matters
  • Manage assigned tasks in terms of budget and on time delivery
  • Preparation of high quality technical reports
  • Liaise with internal project teams to ascertain needs and provide regular project updates
  • Lead the preparation of small bids and other marketing initiatives
  • Actively participate in the company's quality and HSE programme
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Victorian planning system, regulatory frameworks, and policy, and experience applying it to achieve practical outcomes
  • Ability to write high quality technical reports
  • Experience in environmental impact assessment and approval processes, particularly in Victoria
  • Ability to work to time and budget constraints
  • Statutory planning degree (or equivalent) and minimum 3 years' related experience
