As our Systems Design Lead you will lead the Systems Engineering activities on a new programme delivering a complete naval platform upgrade for an International Navy. Working from our UK office you will manage the entire engineering lifecycle from requirements capture through the complex design and into test and acceptance.

Key responsibilities

  • The development and management of requirements specifications for the systems and subsystem level
  • Acting as a key interface to the customer to define and agree the test specifications
  • Defining and authorising of design descriptions and verification requirements
  • Advising the System Engineering team as the technical authority on the programme as well as giving guidance for design decisions
  • Represent the Systems Engineering group in all programme decisions including change control and programme reviews
  • Partner with the Systems Engineering function to continuously grow the internal capability of the function and stay abreast of external developments in the maritime and engineering domain.

Skills, qualifications and experience

  • Confident in the delivery of the full engineering lifecycle gained from within a complex electronic systems background from either aerospace, railway, space, propulsion, maritime or other complex engineering sectors
  • Clear communicator who is comfortable dealing with multiple cultures across different time zones
  • Astute in dealing with complex supply chains and multi-vendor engineering programmes
  • Knowledgeable in the intricacies of platform integrations
  • Inclusive and innovative individual who can think freely and independently
  • Knowledge of maritime upgrades or builds highly desirable but not essential.
