Our Client is one of the UK's largest Civil Engineering and Construction companies in the UK, with substantial growth into the infrastructure and rail markets in the last decade, and a substantial forward order book of major projects covering the next 8 years.
In the UK, there principal market sectors are Rail, Highways, Power,Water, Nucleur and Oil & Gas.
The Commercial team are looking to strengthen the team with an established Commercial Manager to assist in running a multi million pound station redevelopment.
Principal Duties & Accountabilities
1 Responsible for commercial management of various work packages as directed.
2 Responsible for input and delivery of client facing target cost reports
3 Responsible for accurate cost and value reporting to both client and business needs in accordance with relevant processes.
4 Responsible for commercial risk management.
5 Interfaces with finance, project management, engineering and planning functions.
6 Ensures accurate and timely applications for payment and cash receipts.
7 Ensures contractual notices are issued in accordance with contractual timeframes.
8 Responsible for preparing and estimating contract changes / variations
9 Provide support and advice to the project management teams on matters such as contract compliance, contract awareness, contract change management, claims, variations, legal and financial matters, liaising where necessary with other specialist advisors within the organisation.
10 Establish and maintain interfaces with key internal functions and with appropriate levels within the client project organization
11 Commercially manage throughout the project lifecycle to ensure business and client expectations are met and exceeded.
12 Maintain commercial awareness across the project management and engineering community.
13 Ensure all commercial processes and document control complies with the appropriate company standards and governance.
14 Responsible for maintaining auditable records in accordance with target cost contract requirement.
* Degree or equivalent level qualification in Quantity Surveying or related construction subject
* Relevant commercial experience preferably with a contracting organisation
Successful applicants will ideally be MRICS, with either a track record of delivery or be in a position to demonstrate a level of experience that provides a sound footing for the next stage of career development.
