Commercial Manager - Canning Town, London |
My client is part of a worldwide brand, turning over in excess of £1bn each year. They offer a broad range of electrical services to the market, and in London their clients are the top construction businesses in the City.
We are recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join their small, dynamic team based out of their Canning Town office in London.
The division I am recruiting for operate at £25m turnover annually, and boast a client portfolio of some of the most successful construction businesses in London. We are looking for a Commercial Manager to replace the current incumbent that is retiring. This role is categorised as M+E due to the nature of my clients' business, but it is worth noting they are not a main contractor; the key skill needed here is the experience of working with Bespoke and Custom JCT and NEC contracts, this is why we are looking for candidates from a main contractor background.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to step away from a traditional construction outfit and enjoy more autonomy and variety in their working day and the opportunity to implement processes and procedures that are effective in saving money and suit their style of working. You will have full responsibility for the commercial function of this business, and the day to day management of a team of 3 project managers.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
• Contract Law
• Final Accounts
• Client Meetings
• Professional input at tender and bid stage
Your time will be split between the office and being out on site, or at client meetings. All live projects are within the M25 and you will need to be willing to travel to site as and when required. The value and complexity of projects will vary, and you will manage multiple projects at a time. Currently, the largest contract they are managing is £7m in value. Candidates with experience working from First Principals are very desirable.
