A job has arisen for an Estimator to work for a main contractor based in Kent, due to an upcoming retirement in the team, they are looking to ensure through careful succession planning that there is no disruption to their ability to tender for new work.
The company are a busy main contractor based in Mid Kent that have taken their annual turnover from £3 million to £10 million in just 3 years. They work within the private and public sector to deliver projects across industrial, commercial, retail, leisure and education, as well as being specialist in the construction of groundworks, drainage, heavy foundations, R.C. structures and retaining walls, highways and street works. Project values range from £50k up to but not limited to £6 million.
Your new role
As the Estimator, you will be working on and constructing tender packages mainly for industrial, commercial, retail, ground works, drainage, foundations, highways, infrastructure and R.C structure programmes. As part of the tendering process and growing the company profile, you will be marketing the business and developing further business opportunities where appropriate.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you will need to have proven experience within a main contractor environment, ideally performing the following duties; managing and co-ordinating information for bids and tenders within designated area, researching materials, equipment and labour costs, collecting quotes from suppliers and sub-contractors, planning job timescales, preparing and submitting quotations for work.
