Your new company
You will work for a private consultancy who operate nationally with revenues of circa £4m per annum. Due to an increase in work they will transform their business into a £7m per annum turnover organisation within 3-5 years. As part of implementing the next stages of their business plan, they wish to recruit a chartered Building Surveyor. Their customers include local authorities, social landlords, NHS, schools, businesses with significant corporate property concerns, building and maintenance contractors. Their services to customers are grouped around the following themes - Asbestos surveying & testing, Asset Management, Energy Efficiency, Building and Quantity Surveying, Gas and Electrical Management Services and Assurance. They can provide advisory, professional, service delivery or out-sourced services to meet customer needs.
Your new role
You will be responsible for delivery of property related projects, e.g. employer's agent, party wall agent, project management, etc. Develop existing service offerings, and develop new ones, e.g. dilapidations, valuation, etc. Diversify into commercial and private sectors, in addition to increasing market share within social housing.
You will help to Achieve a year on year increase in turnover and profitability across the property services function. Personally deliver secured consultancy assignments, achieving agreed billable days targets. You will provide building pathology and services to include design, surveys, fire risk assessment, contract administration and procurement.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be MRICS qualified with a degree in building surveying and ideally demonstrable experience in social housing, asset management or commercial sector surveying. You will have experience in Project Management of major works along with experience in preparing tender docs, scope of works, cost appraisals and dealing with interim / final accounts. Knowledge and ability to write detailed technical reports.
