Our client is a growing, privately owned construction firm who have offices nationwide. Currently, they are looking for a Regional QS to look after the key commercial elements of their projects throughout Scotland and North Eastern England.
The Salary on offer is up to £40,000 per annum plus company car, pension and generous annual leave allowance.

Purpose of the job
To manage all costs relating to projects from initial calculations to final figures. You will seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, whilst achieving the required standards and quality levels. You will also identify and mitigate risk.

Main Duties
• Ensure a robust cost control and budget management strategy throughout each project
• Provide commercial expertise to projects, to include the production and submission of valuations, budget monitoring
• Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risk and supply detailed progress reports
• To support the authorisation and submission of project variations.
• Maximise cash flow through the control, measurement (including quality) and valuation of work
• To assist with priced tenders through supplying information that is accurate, clearly detailed, and competitive by agreed deadlines
• To assist with procurement strategies for suppliers and subcontractors
• Any other duties as required

Essential Skills, knowledge and Experience
BSc Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
Hold a valid CSCS card
Experience of working in the Rail industry or general civil engineering
Experience of working with volumes
IT Literate and proficient in the use of MS Office
Excellent communication skills
Ability to manage your own time
Excellent attention to detail
Full driving license
Excellent negotiating skills
A knowledge of Contract Law and Insurances
A knowledge of risk management
Must be flexible in hours of work and travel

Member of RICS or working towards
