Software Commissioning Engineer - £40-50k + site uplift + pension contribution - East Midlands based client|
Samuel Frank Associates require an experienced Software Commissioning Engineer with a strong Rockwell background to join a rapidly expanding client in the East Midlands.
Good control system design and Electrical knowledge is also a key requirement for the position.
The successful Commissioning Engineer will have either a BSc in Engineering with at least 5 years of design / commissioning OR equivalent experience.
Electrical installation supervision requiring liaison with contractors.
Applicants must have a sound understanding of the equipment to allow for all aspects of trouble shooting, especially when bringing online bespoke equipment.
Commissioning of the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and software (Allen Bradley).
Carry out and record all of the commissioning tests, including hand-over trials.
The continuous updating of documentation required during the commissioning process.
Onsite training of the clients' workforce.
Provide service maintenance and design/process enhancements on an ongoing basis.
Be available to work from the UK office (East Midlands), if required.
Allen Bradley ControlLogix 5000 PLCs hardware / software.
Flex IO / DeviceNet and ControlNet hardware / software.
FactoryTalk View SCADA programming software using Ethernet communications.
PowerFlex 4/40/70/700 series VFDs hardware / ControlNet communications.
Low to medium electrical experience (up to 600Vac).
Electrical commissioning and fault finding.
Combustion fault finding on burner systems.
Process knowledge within the Aluminum thermal industries / Waste to energy industries (furnaces, de-coating etc.)
Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
Working knowledge of Microsoft office products.
Not all the technical skills are essential, if you feel you have a solid broad base of what is described, please apply and I will go through the key requirements with you in more detail. This individual will typically spend 8-9 months per year on customer site. Currently this is likely to be UK site work, moving forward site work could entail stints abroad. Typically Commissioning Engineers are spending 8 week stints onsite and site work is capped at 12 weeks per visit.
For the right candidate there could be an option to split the time between home, site and the office.
