A Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement Engineer is sought to drive lean initiatives within a successful manufacturing business.|
Working across Engineering and Production teams you will lead improvement projects using lean principles eliminating wastes within the manufacturing processes, to achieve year on year competitiveness.
Responsibilities will include
Performing time studies, applying statistical methods and using mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, labour requirements and production standards. You will also identify wastes within existing processes and develop countermeasures and review production schedules and provide an accurate monthly manning plan using up to date standard times
You will also develop manufacturing methods, labour utilisation standards and cost analysis systems to promote efficient labour and facility utilisation, recommend methods for improving utilisation of personnel, material, and utilities and plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilisation.
Key indicators of success will be
* Achievement of Production schedule within standard time.
* Improved labour efficiency. (standard time reduction)
* Scrap & process defects reduction in line with budget.
* On time monthly labour report
The successful candidate will be an experienced Manufacturing / Production Engineer who is proficient in the use of continuous improvement techniques. A good working knowledge of 6 sigma / Lean principles is needed as is experience within a a high volume manufacturing facility. You will need to be proficient with Microsoft Excel and have a good understanding of quality and environmental standards such as IS9001, TS16949 and ISO1400. You will need the ability to plan production and fully understand cycle times and have strong communication skills, with the ability to motivate others within the team environment.
