About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated Environmental Field Technician. The Environmental Field Technician reports directly to the Tallahassee Environment Lead and works under the supervision of the appropriate Project Manager/Task Leader on specific projects. There will be involvement in a variety of environmental remediation, assessment, compliance and other projects and direction from project personnel from other offices. The work performed could be at locations in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina or others in Southeast US. Require a strong safety focus to complete work safely and effectively. Field Technicians will interact with other environmental staff, client representatives and will be expected to work professionally at all times to ensure AECOM is well represented to the clients. There will be a considerable amount of interaction and direction from staff in the Florida Environment Business Line.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Performs as a trainee routine fieldwork that requires overnight travel to locations in the southeast US(includes environmental sampling, assisting with calculations, and operations, maintenance and inspection of remedial equipment, minor construction and other tasks as assigned)
  • Performs routine tasks in support of project staff and handles less complex duties
  • General knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software and other computer programs related to email, time keeping, training, and internal processes.
  • Learning client specific safety requirements and regulatory standard operating procedures for environmental sampling

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Work weekends and overtime as needed
  • Ability to travel for days at a time
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Be able to obtain 40 hr HAZWOPER Training Certificate upon hire
  • MS Word and Excel experience
  • Must be able to pass a medical clearance
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications
  • Heavy equipment experience
  • Industrial or Manufacturing Plant experience
  • Collection of environmental data experience
