About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary
The Geosciences/Remediation Department in the Orange, CA office is looking for a Health and Safety Professional to perform health, safety and environmental oversight for a long-term remedial construction project to achieve compliance with health and safety standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
  • Oversee HSSE for a large, complex remedial excavation site with numerous workers and equipment
  • Assist staff with the preparation of site specific Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
  • Implement a behavior based safety system
  • Lead field safety audits and report findings to corporate database
  • Participate in incident investigations and lead root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Lead by example and promote a strong safety culture that can be relied on by staff, management, and clients
  • Develop lessons learned (LL's) and distribute best practices (BP's)

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Health, Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Engineering
  • 8 years of experience in HSSE management and oversight
  • Solid experience managing large, diverse crews
  • Experience in excavation and/or demolition work
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Current 40-hour HAZWOPER (with refreshers if required)
  • OSHA 8hr Supervisor and/or 30hr Construction
  • Previous work experience in the Oil & Gas Industry (i.e., Refinery, Terminal, Retail Gas Station, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Safety, Health, Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Engineering
  • 10 years' experience
  • Working knowledge of a variety of chemicals including petroleum, chlorinated, metals, etc.
  • Candidate may have additional training in the following:
  • Remedial Construction
  • Heavy Equipment Operations
  • Soil Excavations
  • Drilling Operations
  • General Construction
  • Hazard Recognition and mitigation
  • Safety Document Review and Development
