About the Business Line
AECOM's Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions - International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. Job Summary
Savannah River Remediation, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to be based in our Aiken, SC location.

  • Inspect, witness, test, perform surveillance and prepare documentation to verify work activities are performed in accordance with established criteria.
  • Identify and document non-conformances and verify resolutions are in accordance with approved dispositions.
  • Review supplier's and subcontractor's quality verification documentation for traceability and specification compliance.
  • Initiate quality release documents that indicate the subcontractor has fulfilled the contract quality documentation requirements.
  • Perform visual inspections of material and equipment when received to ensure freedom from damage and that traceability is maintained as required.
  • Perform mathematical calculations or conversions to determine correct values in order to determine acceptance/rejection of an item or activity.
  • Conduct final walk downs for work activity completion and verification that all work is completed, inspected and documented.
  • Attend status meetings to provide input from the quality control department.
  • Monitor operations maintenance, subcontractors and supplier's workmanship, installation of material and equipment for quality control compliance.
  • Review design output documents in accordance with approved procedures in order to establish inspection requirements in quality assurance procedures, inspection plans and/or work packages.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 2 years practical work experience in construction inspection or related areas, or
  • An Asssociates degree and 5 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent, or
  • Note: A 2 year technical diploma will be considered equivalent to an Associates degree.
  • High School diploma and 8 years practical work experience.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Requirements:
  • This position prefers current or prior Level II certifications in the Electrical, Mechanical and/or Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) inspection disciplines.
Additional Information:
  • Individual must have current or successfully obtain SRS RW2 training and respirator and plastic suit qualifications.
  • Assignment to rotational shift work (12.2 hrs) will be required.
  • Ability to receive a government issued "L" clearance as required
  • The Quality Inspection group provides the necessary support for facilities on a 24 hour 7 days a week basis. QA shift work is needed for "scheduled" work activities and any emergent work that may occur on backshifts and weekends.
  • Working in a radiological environment requiring the use of protective clothing and respiratory equipment will be required
  • Climbing stairs, lifting, walking or standing for extended periods of time and capable of passing a visual examination as required by site procedures is required.
