I am currently representing one of the largest and most innovative companies in the world when it comes to communication and network infrastructures from Satellites; an industry leader aiming to keep people connected at all times anywhere - anytime.
With the recent launch of one of their most advanced products, the team is poised for significant growth in the converging Mobile and Fixed government satellite services sector.
This position is designed to act as one of the (Senior) Solutions Architects in support of the growth of the Global Government business.

Currently in the process of launching a state of the art brand new satellite (costing over £2Billion) that will shake and shape the current fleet of satellites in operation, pushing the limits of speed and scope
What are we looking for? What is in it for you?
I am looking for an experienced Solutions architect to work on the latest Satellite technologies to work in between the technical teams and the clients, ideally someone who has had a technical background and most recently been involved in the design, implementation and delivery of specific Satellite products and services.
The role will primarily involve creating innovative solutions based on the core network you will be responsible for - as well as managing Global Government's interaction with the technical teams supporting and operating the relevant core network.
Reporting to the Director, "Solutions Engineering - Networks within Global Government" the successful candidate will provide the most innovative and commercially attractive solutions for Global Government's customer base in support of the sales teams.
In return, you will have access to working with a range of governments worldwide as well as private companies to help them develop bespoke solutions and products that are at the very front of technology and innovation.

Role: Senior Solutions Architect, Satellite Communications

Demonstrate a high level of technical skill & knowledge in the core network you are responsible for and support the sales and business development teams in the technical assessment solutions or develop VSAT or L-band lease network designs to support revenue growth for the business unit
Directly discuss, design and validate the network/service configuration and required performance of the network with internal & external stakeholders.
You will be responsible for technical and commercial work on bids and quotations for global government networks and professional services.
Participate in product demonstrations and pilot projects
Create and deliver technical presentations to promote and educate sales teams, partners and internal stakeholders on products and services.
Support marketing by acting as a subject matter expert (SME)
Maintain an in-depth understanding of key market domain dynamics, competitor activities and solutions used by government clients
Key Technical Skills:
We have 2 potential roles; one specialising on "Lease Services", for this role you will need;
VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) Lease
L Band Lease
tactical UHF/VHF radio over L-band
Interface with COO office to request, assess and confirm authorisation and activation of leases.
Terrestrial routing of these networks
All known terminal manufacturers for these networks and services.
For the other role (not on Lease Services), you will need;
Acting as a subject matter expert for a key service/ product and VSAT services, you will be expected to maintain a high level of knowledge on areas such as:
The iDirect Velocity based Managed Services Network
Service Enablement Platform (SEP) and Gateway management portal system.
All variants of the Network Service Device (NSD), including the L-band network diversity service, OTT services and application support.
The Interim Government Plan (IGP) service based on the iDirect Evolution platform.
All known terminal and NSD manufacturers for these networks and services.
A blend of the following technical Capabilities is required:
Solid experience of working with complex projects in a senior technical role in the satellite communications industry with a satellite operator or service provider in a customer centric environment
Previous experience designing/selling/marketing telecommunications managed services based on VSAT technology (network architectures, modem systems and remote terminal technology) to customers, especially using iDirect networks
Familiarity with LBA/Design tools, such as Satmaster, LST5, CLBT and iNPT to run satellite Link Budgets using iDirect, Comtech, Newtec, Gilat or similar waveforms
Good knowledge of IP networks especially within government domains
Good analytical, problem solving skills and decision-making skills
Able to present a professional image and deal confidently with technical issues with customer, partners and Inmarsat teams at all levels of seniority
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
Strong commercial awareness and ability to communicate outside of a technical environment both with Global internal & external stakeholders and the ability to negotiate
Fluency in written and spoken English
Accustomed to working in cross-functional teams in an international environment.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
Experience of Network design and Network Operations with a global carrier
Previous experience of designing, operating and selling services based on iDirect products and or L-band products
Understanding of mobile satellite, fixed satellite and cellular industry (for example 3G, Cisco and iDirect technologies) or recognised niche systems integration activities
Knowledgeable in government contract and acquisition processes
Experience with Global Governments, MoD and NATO satcom community
Fluency in additional languages
