About this Role:|
My client is a World Leading Building & Civil Engineering Contractor.
They are looking to appoint, on a permanent basis a Site Engineer to work on a newly awarded £25M Design & Build Rail project in North London.
The works are to construct a new "above ground" station facility for London Underground.
The overall scope of works involves the redevelopment, modernisation and enlargement of the existing London Underground station in order to improve efficiency and increase its capacity.
The project will be delivered in accordance with LU Standards and practices; however, there is no direct interface with the operational underground railway and most activities will be carried out in normal working hours. There is an adjacent NR Station and part of the project will require NR interface and compliance with their regime.
The scope includes; piling, reinforced concrete works, structural steel, building cladding, roofing, internal and external finishes, migration of systems and some M&E.
Those with experience of working on a similar project or in a Rail environment preferred, although not essential.
Key duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to a Section Engineer or Sub-Agent, the Site Engineer will be responsible for engineering and delivery of the construction works.
This will require complex planning and access issues with a large number of individual work sites over a number of miles of the railway infrastructure.
To be considered for this position as a Site Engineer you need to have prior experience working as a Site Engineer holding a CSCS Card. Ideally you will have experience working in the Rail environment and hold a PTS card.
You must also be proficient with GPS surveying equipment and be experienced in producing permits to dig (Authorised Person and Nominated Person experience would be very favourable), and location of underground services using RD8000 CAT & Genny. Holding SMSTS or SSSTS would also be beneficial.
