**AUTOMOTIVE 1st TIER**
We are currently looking for a skilled Manufacturing Engineer for 1st tier automotive cleint in the Telford area. This is a business with international footprint, looking to expand the site in the Merseyside area. Currently there are over 1200 people on site. This opportunity is for someone looking to progress quickly within their role, with on the job training and courses to help you grow your skill set.
You will develop and optimise products utilising analytical tools & techniques to enable manufacture in-line with production methods and targets of time, cost and quality.
Development of manufacturing processes for existing product families and NPI including: fixturing, tooling, processes, and programs.
Utilising root cause analysis tools to implement corrective and preventative actions.
Leading LEAN initiatives and using Six Sigma tools for process improvements identifying quantifiable improvements in safety, quality, cost reduction, and cycle-times to improve efficiency and delivery.
Reduce costs and improve manufacturing yields, using best practices and professional knowledge to improve tooling, fixtures and equipment for ease of manufacture, mistake proofing, set-up and adjustment elimination.
Optimise all manufacturing processes through line balancing, SPC (Statistical process control) methodology, Control charts, PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis).
Improve and maintain accurate bills of material, manufacturing, routers and work instructions.
Guide trouble shoot existing manufacturing processes, non-conforming parts, fixtures, tooling, and equipment using root cause analysis tools to implement corrective and preventative measures.
Provide guidance on design, build, or procure improved fixtures, tooling, and equipment.
Utilise CI principles to promote and implement continuous improvements focused on the elimination of waste within the manufacturing and business process environment.
Based at the Merseyside plant, the ideal manufacturing engineer will have the following skills and experience:
Proven hands on manufacturing engineering experience in Automotive.
Deep understanding of Lean / Continuous Improvement / Six Sigma methodology.
Recognised engineering qualification
