JOB TITLE: IP Access Shift Engineer|
LOCATION: Irlam (Relocating to Salford Quays in April 2017)

As an IP Access Shift Engineer you will be required to take part in the operational and project activities within the IP Access Engineering Team. The team manages the network infrastructure within the 3000+ BT Exchanges providing our customer base with access to TalkTalk's Next Generation Quad Play Network. The individual will be responsible for the delivery and support of both existing and new projects on our expanding Access Network.
? Undertake new works associated with the Access Network including but not limited to TalkTalk's MSAN, DSLAM, Cisco, Juniper, Ericsson SmartEdge estate.
? Troubleshoot and Configure the Access Network using technologies such as Layer 2 Switching and Layer 3 Routing. A good understanding of the following protocols OSPF, ISIS, BGP, Spanning Tree, VRRP, L2VPN, L3VPN, QoS, MPLS, PPP, DHCP, BNG, BRAS.
? Working with new technology expanding and improving TalkTalk's Access Network.
? Complete Network Optimisation, Capacity and Software upgrade activities.
? Cooperate with Field Engineering providing remote support and provisioning of TalkTalk's Access Network.
? Manage projects to ensure that network changes are implemented in line with defined change management procedures, with minimal interruption to operational services.
? Undertake new works / upgrades / maintenance activities on the TalkTalk Access Network.
? Manage network changes or upgrades (in conjunction with Operations), ensuring that they are implemented with minimal interruption to the end customer.
? Technical liaison with internal teams and external third party suppliers to manage the investigation and resolution of network issues.
? Timely resolution of network incidents, minimising the impact of any network outages.
? Providing support to the TalkTalk NOC and Operational Teams.
? Ensure the correct level of documentation is created, reviewed, maintained and adhered to.
? Create, develop and maintain an asset database for IP equipment.
? Develop and implement best practice for new works and operational processes and procedures.
? Out of hours and on call duties will be required as determined by the requirements of the business.
Required skills / experiences:
? CCNA / JNCIA Accreditation
? CCNP / JNCIS or working towards
? L2/L3 switching and routing experience
? 2 Years? experience of a Telco Environment

? Redback/Ericsson SmartEdge Experience
? Huawei Experience
? Juniper MX/EX Experience
