ESD is a joint venture between MWH, Black & Veatch, and Galliford Try formed to deliver Scottish Water's Non Infrastructure Programme from 2015-2021.

ESD will oversee the delivery of design and build projects throughout Scotland and the highlands for the client's water and wastewater treatment programme.
You will report directly to the Planning Manager and duties/responsibilities of the role will include.

• Ensure ESD's Project Documents portal is used as document management system
• Work with the Project Managers to convert Tender Programmes to Delivery Programmes
• Project Governance Reports
• Ensure Project Programmes are soundly prepared, managed and updated using the WBS advised the Senior Planner - allowing effective programme management and reporting
• Update every live project each month with Project Manager e.g. Progress against baseline. Note: Changes to the fundamental baseline can only proceed following discussion with the Senior Planner or the Programme Manager
• Update every live project/solution with actual costs every month
• Provide Project Manager's with PDF updates of project programmes for issue to Scottish Water (May need to upload to Scottish Water (or ESD) SharePoint (or Documentum) with meta data)
• Work with Project Manager's to develop realistic action plans to recover slippage
• Be aware of the need to satisfy customer requirements with the aim of enhancing the customers' perception and satisfaction. Particular care is need with completion and commissioning activities. Projects and solutions are not complete until certified by Scottish Water
• Provide support, as and when required, with the provision of plans and methodologies at tender stage. To show we have a thorough understanding of the project
• Provide detailed and resourced contract programmes and regular progress reporting thereon
• Ensure construction sequence includes Scottish Water requirements, ESD programme initiatives, procurement and testing/commissioning
• Promote ESD at presentations and meetings as and when required
• Continually look for new or innovative construction, planning and reporting techniques and advise of any applications showing the possibility of benefits to ESD to keep the business at the fore front of performance, delivery and technology
• As required, visit sites to ascertain conditions and constraints to be taken into account in preparing tender programmes and method statements to show we have a thorough understanding of the project
• Work with and co-ordinate with the Field Planner to provide the Project Managers with an excellent planning service.

• Safety is the cornerstone of ESD strategy.
• Recognize that Health and Safety considerations are central to all tasks and contribute to ensuring safe working environment for all.

Quality & Document Control
• Understand and implement the Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies and Targets;
• Comply, as appropriate, with the processes contained within the ESD BMS;
• Suggest improvements to the ESD BMS when they become apparent.
• Ensure ESD's Project Documents portal is used as document management system

Key Attributes

• Minimum of 2 years of project planning experience
• Knowledge and experience of multi-discipline design, construct and commission projects
• Experienced in using Primavera - P6 preferred

• Site experience
• Experience of capital works in water and wastewater
• Experience of taking data from one application and using in another (e.g. P6 to/from MSP)
• Experience of resource & cost loading P6

• Qualification in project management, planning, or construction management
(Or able to demonstrate the aptitude and mindset that could quickly be up and running)

• CSCS card
• Running Collaborative Planning Sessions/ Workshops
