Our Construction Services Group offers services geared to a project's size and complexity, and backed by a corporate commitment to total quality management. We are currently seeking a Construction Manager to join our Construction Services Group in Portland, Oregon.

The Construction Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of various transportation and transit construction projects. The Construction Manager will serve as the on-site client representative during construction and will be responsible for full-service construction contract administration and inspection. The Construction Manager will have responsibilities including:
      • Managing administrative and inspection staff
      • Facilitating progression of multiple, overlapping construction contracts with significant third-party stakeholder involvement
      • Leading project meetings with the contractor, owner, and project stakeholders
      • Reviewing and responding to Submittals, RFIs, and other project correspondence
      • Reviewing and approving contractor pay requests
      • Evaluating, negotiating, and preparing change orders
      • Performing quality assurance inspection of the contractor's work to confirm compliance with contract requirements
      • Preparing and administering non-compliance notices for completed work not conforming to contract requirements
      • Performing project close-out including punch list inspections, as-built reviews, and project record compilation
The Construction Manager will also be responsible for the following activities (in addition to project assignments):
      • Performing constructability, billability, and value engineering reviews of various projects under design in the local office.
      • Identifying future construction services opportunities and meet with prospective clients
      • Developing proposals for prospective construction management services opportunities
      • Assisting with other marketing and proposal development needs in the local office

This position is ideal for a self-starter, "seller/doer" construction management professional interested in helping to both deliver complex projects and grow the company's construction services practice.

Job Requirements
The Construction Manager must meet the following required qualifications:
      • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
      • Minimum of 10 years of experience providing construction management services for transportation and transit projects
      • Experience with road construction, including intersection widening, pavement overlay, signal modifications, and traffic staging on a busy roadway
      • Experience with rail crossing construction (interface/coordination at a minimum)
      • Experience with multi-agency, stakeholder, and business community coordination during construction
      • Previous Oregon DOT experience, particularly with contract/proposal review and related tasks
      • Relevant certifications (P.E., CCM, PMP)
      • Experience with alternative delivery projects (design-build, CM/GC)
      • Experience with business development in the local Portland-area market

The ability to to work in the United States immediately is required.
