WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff has an opening for a Connected/Automated Vehicle Systems Engineering Associate (Associate Consultant III) to join our Advisory Services group. This group includes our Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) as well as Connected and Automated Vehicle practices. Our services support public agencies and private firms, primarily in the transportation sector, with the development of strategies, concepts, requirements, designs plans, policies, economic and financial analyses, and project development. Our expertise covers highways, transit, ports, railroads, aviation, and multi-modal investments.

We are recruiting a highly motivated self-starter with practical experience in systems engineering to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team in our Connected and Automated Vehicles practice in Columbus OH, Detroit MI and Herndon, VA territories. The successful candidate will be part of a team focused on delivering solutions to our clients, supporting the deployment of advanced transportation concepts. These concepts may include connected and autonomous vehicles, advanced traffic signal controller operations, transit operations, multi-modal trip planning tools and providers, transit payment systems, smart parking systems, freight routing, database design, data analytics, performance measures and evaluation support.

Responsibilities include:
      • Conducting research related to industry best practices
      • Reviewing product specifications
      • Evaluating products/services as compared to requirements
      • Contributing to systems engineering documentation
      • Developing procurement specifications
      • Assisting with system deployment and test
      • Supporting operations
      • Data collection and analysis, and reporting
The Connected/Automated Vehicle Systems Engineering Associate (Associate Consultant III) position offers great opportunities for professional growth. You will work directly with industry thought leaders to identify and apply evolving requirements and innovative practices to large, highly visible projects across the United States.

Job Requirements
      • Mandatory Bachelor's degree with a major in Engineering (Industrial, Transportation, Civil, Electrical, Computer) or related field.
      Advanced degree in Industrial, Transportation or other engineering disciplines, computer science or related field highly desired
      • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
      Proven experience using the Systems Engineering Life-Cycle process
      • Knowledge of transportation operation strategies (such as ITS, connected vehicles, networking and vehicle automation) is also preferred.
      • Desired qualities include; leadership and the ability to network with clients in the field
      • Demonstrated ability to synthesize problems, think creatively, work independently, and deliver high quality work with minimal supervision
      • Demonstrated strong analytical and quantitative skills
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present results and recommendations
      • Ability to work in a team environment
      • Immediate ability to work in the Unites States
