Functions as a technical specialist or supervisory role. Independently develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems in the Oil & Gas industry. May supervise engineering staff on projects of medium to high complexity, or serve as a technical specialist providing knowledge and expertise to assigned projects. |
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
•Knowledgeable in process design, specifications, plant operation and troubleshooting, commissioning and startup experience.
•Review general project objectives and establish process engineering requirements for front end studies to detailed design projects.
•Plan, develop, coordinate and direct the process engineering effort for assigned project(s).
•Supervise a process engineering staff of engineers, designers, drafters and other assigned support personnel. This includes staffing, work assignments, scheduling, personnel appraisals and work reviews.
•Develop and monitor project control systems including schedules, budgets, and milestone completions.
•Knowledgeable in codes and standards pertaining to the Oil & Gas industry.
•Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts with an understanding of Six-Sigma and Lean principals.
•Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables for multiple or mega projects.
•Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
•Oversees collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work.
•Prepares complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
•Manages process engineering budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
•Develops and applies advanced engineering solutions to complex problems.
•Reviews engineering work done by others on assigned projects.
•Provides leadership on process teams, coordinates project efforts with multiple disciplines, and servers as the responsible process engineer in charge for assigned projects.
•Establishes process engineering work plan and staffing requirements to be applied to a given project.
Client Focus & Project Coordination:
•Responsible for determining identification of key client interests and drivers on projects.
•Provides support to business development or pursuit activities.
•Actively coordinates with all other internal/external team members on complex projects.
•Responsible for defining project schedules for process engineering.
•May oversee performance management, career planning, recognition, training and development of other process engineers.
•Implements resource management strategy by managing process engineering resources for assigned projects.
•Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
•Professional Engineering License.
•11 years of work experience in the Process Design and Oil & Gas industry.
