Your new company are a specialist M+E installations organisation who mainly work across student accommodation and high-rise residential developments. The company have a successful track record of working on projects up to £13m, with an average project value of £2.5m. The company is relatively small in size and has a close-knit, family atmosphere. The Managing Director has an 'open door' policy and is keen to recruit someone who has the ambition to progress their career as the company grows.
Your new role
As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be based in Sunderland. You will manage one project at a time and be expected to spend a large part of your time away from the North East. You will mainly work on new build student accommodation projects of (Apply online only) beds.
You will come from a mechanical background, so a base in HVAC related to building services - preferably student accommodation and high-rise residential new builds - is essential. It would also be beneficial to have a sound electrical knowledge.
Project teams tend to work with one mechanical and one electrical specialist per project. The willingness for extensive UK-wide travel is absolutely essential.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed as a Mechanical Project Manager, you'll have the drive and ambition to deliver the best service to the clients. You must be happy to spend week nights away from home. An HVAC trade background is essential, and additional electrical knowledge is desired.
