About The Quantity Surveyor Role:
The purpose of the role is to manage the day to day financial, cost control and reporting of a heating service and install contract to and including completion of client and sub contract final accounts, recovery/discharge of all retentions and completion of archive material.
You will be responsible for the effective commercial control of all allocated projects including provision of timely and accurate documentation in accordance with the Surveying timetable, in particular Monthly Cost/Value Reports, all elemental reconciliations, cash flow forecasts, etc. You will also take the lead to establish appropriate targets/rates and re-measurement/evaluation of subcontractor/labour only/direct labour outputs.
The Ideal Quantity Surveyor:
• Experienced Quantity Surveyor with previous experience in the social housing sector, particularly in a planned and reactive environment would be beneficial.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience at Quantity Surveyor level will be required, Demonstrable experience of the following activities are essential
• accurately reporting and forecasting Revenue, cost and margin.
• Sub Contract negotiation and procurement
• Maximising cash through timely valuations to minimize WIP & Debt.
• Customer focused to achieve desired outcomes through professional relationships.
• Experience of using task management IT systems within a responsive repairs environment would be beneficial
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in the social housing sector with proven track record in a commercial role, particularly within the property services or similar related industry. You will have experience of leading the commercial function and demonstration effective cash management of the project.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills and deliver effective interaction with all members of the project team. You will have the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with the client, employer's representative and supply chain.
