The client is looking to employ experienced candidates to all levels of the estimating department. Management experienced is preferred but not essential.
Review customer's drawings and specifications to prepare accurate costing sheets for materials, labour and equipment.
Review tender invitations and identify the client's requirements.
Ensure compliance with the companies CSUK procedures.
Collate and review tender documents and submission requirements in a timely way, ensuring all financial information is identified and provided and accurate.
Have a comprehensive knowledge of material prices and quotations for services.
A close attention to detail with a high level of mathematical skill.
Partake in post tender client negotiations.
Development and maintain a comprehensive subcontract database.
Have the ability to communicate with Contract Managers, Bid Writers and Planners.
Robust market acumen and a logical approach to cost planning and estimating.
Assess the levels of risk on a project.
Tracking the stages of a project to ensure that costs are in line with previous forecasts.
Delegate commercial activities to other members of the team as appropriate
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Experience of managing/implementing all aspects of the estimating process for projects within the construction industry.
Membership of a relevant professional body and/or a relevant professional qualification is desirable, such as RICS/CIOB/RIBA/ICE/CIBSE.
Good working knowledge of pricing and quantification methods, Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required, combined with the capability to produce results as part of a team.
Experience working with projects across a variety of sectors e.g. Commercial, Industrial, Education, Health, Residential and Public Sector.
Hold a practical view of the construction process
The client is a main contractor with a turnover of +50m per annum.
