This service is focused on delivering high quality work refurbishing empty properties ready to be let in areas that will cover Slough, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, South Oxford, Farnborough, Reading and West London.
Our Client is looking for a Carpenter to be part of their Maintenance Team based at their site in Berkshire, where the focus will be on high quality work, outstanding customer service and a right first time attitude. The position is permanent.
Our Clients Carpenters are supplied with a company van (business use only), uniform and PPE equipment.
You will begin the day from your home address where you will travel to jobs which are distributed to your PDA (hand-held device).
The areas you will be expected to cover will be Slough, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, South Oxford, Farnborough, Reading and West London.
The types of work you will do will vary and will include but not limited to the repair and replacement of windows, floors, doors, stairs, kitchen units and locks.
Specifically, you will provide a customer focused carpentry repairs and maintenance service across our client's properties and its residents, and to carry out such works as instructed, whilst meeting our client's corporate targets of financial strength and resident satisfaction.
You will contribute to the direct maintenance team's objectives, targets and achievements, whilst operating in line with our client's values and delivering the highest level of quality and customer service to residents.
You will carry out works to a high standard as detailed by work orders or instructed by your supervisor/line manager.
You will work collaboratively within the direct maintenance team to meet and deliver our clients objectives.
You will be the 'face and voice' of our client with residents and ensuring that repairs and maintenance are carried 'out right first time' and in accordance with our client's standards, having regard for resident satisfaction at all times.
You will ensure works are carried out in accordance with our client's policies, KPI requirements and schedule of rates to ensure value for money and to keep material usage to a minimum consistent with the required quality of work.
You will ensure compliance in respect of the relevant areas of governance and adherence to required statutory and regulatory provisions. This includes financial probity and identifying fraud and health and safety.
You will ensure satisfactory completion of time recording, appraisal paperwork and any monitoring documentation or equipment as requested (e.g. PDA).
Finally, you will adhere to all the relevant Health and Safety policy and risk assessment requirements that relate to the role.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Carpenter with experience of working in a building and/or housing maintenance environment.
Your practical experience should be supported by a City & Guilds Level 2 or NVQ level 2 or a formal apprenticeship in Carpentry.
Ideally you will have additional knowledge and skills in some of the following: Plumbing ? Plastering ? UPVC ? Tiling ? Flooring ? Electrical ? Fencing / Groundworks or Painting & Decorating.
The ability to deliver high quality work is a given and you must have a customer focused, right first time attitude.
You must be able to work collaboratively with others.
You must have effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
You must be able to assess customer needs and to meet quality standards for service with a focus on delivering high standards of customer/resident satisfaction.
You must be able to work on your own and/or within a team.
You must be able to plan and manage your time effectively and ensure the delivery of work within specified timescales
You will need to be proactive in your daily activities and aware of safe working practices.
It is an essential requirement that you have a good standard of literacy and numeracy and have good IT / PC skills, able to operate a PDA.
You must also possess a full UK driving license as you will be required to drive a company vehicle.

Salary will be depending upon your skill set and experience and in a range of £30,238pa - £31,145pa.
