We are working directly for an associate recruitment and HR consultancy based in Christchurch, New Zealand.|
They currently have a number of clients who are seeking Site Engineers - Roads & Highways to work in New Zealand.
The work will be in Auckland although opportunities may exist in other parts of New Zealand. The roles are permanent and are at intermediate or at senior level.
As a Site Engineer - you will be part of team re- configuring roads, bus lanes and cycle ways and interchanges where new motorways connect to the City etc.
In a Site Engineer role, you will be leading by example, and with a confident and professional attitude you will be at the forefront of the business.
Striving to do things better and ethically correct, you will be client facing with a natural ability to engage with all parties and resolve situations before they occur.
Dealing with government officials, contractors, clients and other parties you will have a positive attitude and take great pride in your working ability.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an experienced Site Engineer with a high level of expertise in Roads and Highways. You should be experienced in re- configuring roads, bus lanes, cycle ways and interchanges where new motorways connect to the City road network.
Your practical experience should be supported by a qualification in a related engineering discipline.
In seeking applications our client is looking for Site Engineers that have gained that solid base of experience in Road & Highways and can demonstrate good technical skills, all round computer systems knowledge and strong attention to detail.
You should ideally have design experience in completing design reports, design layouts, specifications and detailed construction drawings.
You should have the ability to work with team and share knowledge across a range of different areas.
You will have excellent inter personal skills, in order to promote the company's core values and culture.
You will be able to demonstrate competence in the areas of Health and Safety.
You should be self-motivated, someone who enjoys dealing with people and who can show appropriate use of their own initiative.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English, able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
Finally, you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC literate with MS Office, e mail, the Internet. Experience of AutoCAD, 12d or Civil3d skills would be advantageous.

Salary will typically be in a range of between 100,000 - 120,000 New Zealand Dollars (NZD) depending upon experience. Most vacancies will come with Kiwisaver.
