Our client is considered one of the UK's leading Construction groups with revenues in excess of £800m. They operate in the: Education, Healthcare, Commercial & Retail sectors and have now confirmed that turnover has been secured for 2017 with good scope going into 2018. The firm is split into various different regions, all of which are targeted individually on Turnover and profit margin. This particular opportunity lies with the 'West Midlands' region, who undertake works for a number of clients in and around the Birmingham area.
What you will need:
To be successful in your application as Commercial Manager you must have a proven track record working on design and build projects from £10-40m. It is essential that you are cost/delivery focussed and have experience working on a variety of sectors. Due to the location of the work, candidates currently living in the West Midlands will be preferred. People management skills are also required - the role will give you responsibility for a commercial team, which will bring challenges of its own. This therefore means that our client is looking for an individual capable of running a successful team and dealing with the day to day issues involved.
Reporting to director level, you will be responsible for budgeting, monthly reporting, approving sub-contractor orders and payments and the supervision of the estimating and tendering process. You will be required to manage and develop your team, ensuring projects are completed successfully, on time and within budget.
The Commercial manager will be responsible for overseeing projects within a variety of sectors. With the ability to work on a wide range of projects from Commercial, Industrial through to Major Public Sector projects, this contractor has developed a strong reputation and enjoys a high level of repeat business.
* An experienced candidate with extensive experience working in the UK on larger new build and refurbishment projects - from £10m upwards
* Ideally from a strong contracting design & build background (not development)
* A proven track record of managing and leading a successful commercial team
* Knowledge of the local market advantageous
* A dynamic, forward thinking individual with strong commercial acumen
* Self-motivated who has the ability to challenge and report at board level
Our client offers a basic salary in the region of £85,000 plus excellent car/allowance, as well as the normal benefits you'd expect from a successful company that wants to keep and develop its people.
