I have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work with a reputable civil engineering and groundwork's company to work on Central London based projects. |
This company have a continuous high turnover and are looking to add to their growing commercial team!
Salaries are market rate
Must have groundwork's, demolition, piling, reinforced concrete or civils experience
Ideally the candidate will come from a civil engineering background
To carry out financial and contractual administration of allocated Construction Projects in accordance with best practice and Company Procedures, keeping margins and cash flow above established targets.
To monitor, forecast and report to the Commercial Manager and the Site Team on all financial and contractual matters.
Project size up to £10m, Levels of authority subcontract payments - orders, value increases and payments TBA
Reports to the Sector Commercial Manager.

Valuations- On Time, Fully detailed and Up to date.
Timely and Thorough Preparation of Monthly Reports
Excellent Verbal and Written Skills.
Lead the Team-Commercial and Contractual Matters

Programme Appraisal and Review.

Key Performance Indicators
Maintain good relations with Clients and their professional advisors.
Represent the company at meetings held in connection with his/her work and protect the company's interests at such meetings.
Liase and co-operate with all members of the site team. Attend and contribute to team meetings.
Ensure that the following are properly carried out for allocated projects in accordance with best practice and Company Procedures.
o Preparation submission and agreement of interim valuations and applications for payment and final accounts, including measurement on site and from drawings as appropriate
o Identification valuation, submission and agreement of variations and compensation events for PM's Instructions.
o Preparation of all financial reports required at site level including Cost Plan, Monthly Site Report and Quarterly Forecasts. Report on any variances or adverse trends.
o Production of weekly site costing and key material reports.
o Identification, notification, preparation and negotiation of contractual claims and compensation events in conjunction with the Site Manager, Commercial Manager and Contracts Manager.
o Submission of all notices and letters necessary to protect our contractual position with both Clients and Subcontractors, but without becoming confrontational or overbearing.
o Timely and cost effective procurement of Sub-Contractors within agreed targets, ensuring that the construction programme is not jeopardised, and overall contract profitability is optimised.
o Agreement of interim valuations and final accounts for Sub-Contractors and preparation of payment certificates.
o Maintenance of the primary file of all documents correspondence and drawings relevant to assigned contracts. On settlement of the Final Account and all subcontractor accounts prepare main documents for archiving and arrange for them to be archived.
Ensure Certificates and payments from the client are received on time
Form good professional relationships with subcontractors and ensure they are dealt with in a professional and reasonable fashion.
Advise the site team on contractual matters.
Supervise and develop subordinates to ensure they carry out their duties efficiently and effectively. Provide coaching to all subordinates and members of the site team.
Instruction, training and coaching of Trainee surveyors in accordance with the company training scheme. Carry out training reviews for all staff on the Surveyors Training Scheme jointly with the Commercial Manager.
Liase and co-operate effectively with all departments of the company.
Maintain a continuous interest and study of new techniques and developments in construction, contract law and existing and new regulations affecting the company's works.
Carry out other tasks that may be necessary or which you may be asked to do from time to time. In a reasonable and collaborative manner.
