A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our client, a leader in IT services and Logistics provider with technical expertise and presence throughout the UK, as their Configuration Manager within their internal operations department, based at their UK head office in Dunstable, Bedfordshire.

Main Purpose of Role:

You will be responsible for managing the configuration team, motivating and encouraging them to deliver against tight deadlines whilst providing the best possible service. A flexible and innovative approach will ensure your responsibilities for all internal processes and procedures including Health & Safety and Service Delivery are in place, being adhered to and fully documented. Together with full accountability for safe and secure storage, control and identification of stock items.

Key Accountabilities:

* To ensure all company Health & Safety policies are adhered to at all times, external/internal sites
* To manage the configuration department team of staff resources ensuring sufficiently trained staff to cover fluctuation work volumes, including recruitment where necessary
* To maintain and improve all processes in line with the company's quality assurance practices
* To monitor and report all KPI's within agreed timelines
* To liaise with other management on performances via weekly structured meetings
* To monitor and ensure all company policies are adhered to
* To ensure the safe and secure storage, control and identification of all stock items
* To ensure all departmental tasks are clearly identified, documented, carried out and completed accurately
* To ensure there is full tracking, traceability and audit trail for all customer orders
* To identify initiatives and projects that reduces cost and /or improves process efficiency
* To carry out any other duties which may reasonably be expected/requested

Key Performance Indicators/Measures:

* Inventory/stock KPI reporting
* All work undertaken is correctly documented for monitoring purposes
* Staff levels are in line with business performance
* Stock losses and accuracy of stock information
* Resolution of customer issues within agreed company policy/SLA
* Compliance of all Health & Safety procedures
* Process and procedure reviewing/monitoring/improvement

Key Skills & Attributes Required:

* A minimum of 2 years management experience in a busy high pressured logistic/commercial environment
* Experience and expertise in managing complex supply chains and logistical processes
* Experience and expertise with Business planning; process design; improving operational efficiencies and administration procedures
* A thorough understanding of relevant office-related Health and Safety Legislation/guidance
* Ability to work to short deadlines and rapidly changing priorities with a great attention to detail
* The ability to demonstrate an innovative approach to getting results through leading others
* A strategic thinker who has strong skills and experience in organisational development
* The ability to drive performance improvement through change
* Service Level Agreement (SLA) management experience essential
* High level of Commercial awareness - e.g. business processes and managing relationships; managing risk & costs; value for money
* High level of Customer Service and experience at managing internal and external customer conflicts
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel

Education & Qualifications Required:

* Educated to 'A' level or equivalent and/or relevant industry experience
* HND in Operational Management/CPC/NEBOSH all desirable
