This business is a specialist manufacturer of complex equipment used in industrial markets. This company have an excellent manufacturing department who need to boost their capacity to deal with an upturn in output by adding contractor resource to assist in stretched teams. The company are well respected, widely used in their industry and have been in existence for over 20 years. This market leading, established company offers an immediate start, and a competitive rate.

What the role will involve:

As a Mechanical Technician you will be involved in the manufacturing and assembly of the bespoke items which they have designed in house.

Your role split into two main areas, Machining & Assembly.


They sub contract out most of their manufacturing, however they do all of their milling and turning in house, and have section of the factory with Lathes and Bridgeport mills. They want someone who is willing to operate these machines as when required.


Working from engineering drawings, schematics and parts lists (BOM's) you will be expected to build machines up from scratch. This will involve;

* Bolting stuff together using hand tool
* Setting up pneumatics - valves, pipes (SMC / Festo), you will be given a schematic and be expected to know how to pipe it up.
* Using measuring equipment and inspecting your own work
* Jigs and fixture assembly
* Maintain records or work

What are the client looking for in a candidate:

Mechanical Fitting / Assembly - 3yrs +

Able to read and work from engineering drawings

Understands and has experience of setting up pneumatic systems

Use of hand tools

Hands on manufacturing skills (milling / turning)

Attention to detail
