During your first 2 to 3 months you will be put through a thorough training programme on-site preparing you for your Engineering based role focusing of Bill of Materials (BOM). This training will include; training on product range, and see the flow of materials from goods in, to assembly (electrical/electronic & mechanical), test (full system testing, analysis & fault finding) and despatch.
Once you have completed your training, you will be put into your new role!
Your core responsibilities, however not limited to, are;
Working on a project that is restructuring the compilation of BOMS (Bill of Materials) and the process by which the MRP system is populated. Your role in this will be utilizing the upgraded CAD software and integrating it with the MRP system.
To gain a thorough knowledge of the top level BOMS which make up the various product groups.
To understand the logic and nomenclature of item cards to ensure that consistency is rigorously maintained.
Controlling the issue levels on BOMs within Navision, ensuring that these follow the agreed descriptor control procedures and methodology accordingly.
Taking the production order folder, and working from the order acknowledgement technical specification, and relevant quotation details to draw up the required technical documents
Assisting the control and issuing of routine production orders, compiling the bills of materials, and checking that the electrical and mechanical parts are of the latest specification, and meet the requirements of the system ordered.
Compiling top level / sub BOMs using Inventor to give Purchasing, Sales and Production a visual representation of the systems being dispatched.
Using the Inventor CAD system to prepare 2D and 3D drawings of assemblies using approved drawings of existing parts.
To help advise sales order processing team and production with queries regarding standard system configurations.
Qualification in a relevant Engineering Field preferred
Experience of Bill of Materials (BOMs)
Experience of a Design Software is preferred (e.g. 2D: AutoCAD, 3D: Inventor, Solid Works, and Solid Edge etc.)
Experience working within the manufacturing industry
Be able to multi-task with simultaneous projects to meet tight cost and time restraints
Computer literate (Word, Excel)
Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
