Our client is a Civil and Environmental Engineering Contractor working on wide range of projects within the construction Industry across Ireland and the UK.

Projects vary from road, rail, bridge structures, water & wastewater treatment - Civil & M&E, water & wastewater network pipelines, general infrastructure, building and various specialist trenchless, geotechnical and plant technologies.

They now have excellent opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager looking for the next step in their career.

The role will be based in Cambridgeshire and the East Anglia region.

Job Purpose:
To manage a portfolio of Civil/Construction/Water & Wastewater projects
To assist in developing a team which will successfully deliver this portfolio of projects
To play a key role in meeting clients with a view to increasing the profile of the company and to secure tendering opportunities within the civil engineering sectors

Essential Requirements:
Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
12 years contracting experience including on-site experience
Successful delivery of multiple projects
Highly motivated self-starter
Ability to manage all aspects of design and build projects
Ability to communicate well with clients, subcontractors and in-house staff
Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable Requirements:
Chartered Engineer
Strong Commercial Experience
Estimating experience
Competent in use of Microsoft Project programming software

Responsibilities Include:
Manage and oversee all aspects of project works (supported by the Contracts Director, Safety Manager, Quality and Environment Manager and Purchasing Manager), including:
Selection, supervision and coordination with design partners
Selection, supervision and coordination of subcontractors
Recruitment of junior managers and workforce
Formalising contract scopes
Dealing with all contractual matters
Ensuring that projects fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards
Ensuring client satisfaction during projects and at handover
Dealing with third party stakeholders
Supervise assigned company personnel
Implement project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards
Undertake regular formal inspections of sites and consultants work in accordance with company policy
Prepare progress reports and technical reports for clients and for internal use
Support the preparation of bids and support the delivery of company services on other contracts, when required
Keep up to date with industry best practice
Meet with potential clients regularly and promote the company at seminars and events

High levels of motivation and resilience, together with strong influencing and networking skills are essential for this role.
As the successful applicant, you will have a proven track record as a contract manager, coupled with strong commercial acumen.
You will demonstrate integrity, a hard working ethic and be target focused, whilst embracing the challenges and changes within the Industry.
Your tenacity, dedication and team spirit will ensure success in the delivery of key business objectives.
The successful applicant will be able to talk knowledgeably with clients / agents about the technical aspects of delivering their construction projects
