We are currently looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our West/Central region Transit and Rail, Technical Excellence Center. Based in Los Angeles, CA you will be part of a dynamic and growing team dedicated to meeting client expectations through the provision of highly experienced local resources in and around the Greater Los Angeles area.

In this role you will be responsible for providing technical expertise for rail vehicle, electrical systems and systems integration. Our teams provide high quality multi-modal engineering support to high-profile, national and international projects. Transit modes shall include but may not be limited to streetcar, light rail, heavy rail and high-speed rail. You will actively participate in all areas of project cycles, from the design phase through the final close-out. Potential projects will include new vehicle procurements and vehicle overhaul programs.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
      • Client Satisfaction

      • Perform billable work and other tasks as best fits training and ability
      • Assume responsibility for the preparation of technical reports in accordance with PB's ISO requirements including:
          • Prepare technical reports/specifications

          • Investigation of vehicle/rail system and integration issues

          • Assume role in assisting in new pursuits

Job Requirements
Education Required:
      • Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline
      • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license with eligibility for reciprocity in other States or Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) certification
Experience Required:
      • A minimum of 10 (ten) years of experience as an electrical engineer in transit and rail systems
      • System assurance and safety management systems experience
      • Knowledge of and experience with the electrical systems associated with rail vehicles such as: propulsion, HVAC, communications, and auxiliary power systems. Specific significant expertise in one of these systems is a positive attribute.
      • Must be able to effectively communicate information and ideas both orally and in writing in the English language.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and other industry specific software
      • Proficiency with electrical design software
      • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices
      • Experience in client facing roles and meeting client expectations
Desired Qualifications:
      • Master's Degree
      • Experience in electrical design, Specification preparation, Design Review, and Cost estimating
