WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff is currently looking to hire a Lead Electrical Engineer to work in the San Francisco, California office. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects such as: BART extensions in the San Francisco/Oakland Bay area, Extensions for Los Angeles Metro, California High Speed Rail, Trimet Light Rail Tunnel in Portland
Sound Transit Light Rail Extensions, SR99 Highway Tunnel, and I90 Tunnel Inspections. Typical assignments include preparation of engineering design plans and associated calculations, specifications and engineering reports for projects in San Francisco and other WSP | PB offices.

Job Requirements
The position requires experience in electrical design related to transportation infrastructure including transit stations, tunnels, movable and fixed bridges, roadways, rail and marine facilities. Some industrial or specialized facility engineering may meet part of this requirement. The position requires a desire and ability to work in a team environment on challenging projects, some of which will be multi-office projects. The successful candidate shall demonstrate past experience in technically challenging assignments and shall be capable of planning and conducting engineering tasks requiring independent judgment and intelligent review of code requirements prior to adaptation of standard engineering techniques and procedures.

Education Required:
      • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a Nationally Accredited Program University or equivalent
      • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
Experience/Skills Required:
      • Working knowledge of NFPA 70 National Electrical Code
      • Electrical calculations including electrical loads, equipment sizing, feeder sizing, voltage drop, short circuit, selective coordination
      • Lighting circuiting and controls and working knowledge of Energy Code requirements
      • Facility electrical service and power distribution design for 480/277, 120/208, and120/240 volt classifications including electrical one line diagram development, equipment specification, sizing and placement
      • Grounding design including system and equipment grounding
      • Motor control center (MCC) design including layouts, sizing, and motor starter selection
      • Standby and emergency power system design including generator and uninterruptible power supply (UPS)
      • Fire alarm layout and plan development including working knowledge of local fire codes and NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code
      • Proficiency with AutoCAD
      • Proficiency with EXCEL and WORD
Desired Qualifications:
      • Communication design including fiber optic and CAT 5/6 hardware/software application and configuration
      • Control system design or evaluation with knowledge of ladder logic, relays, limit switches and building systems
      • Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) design experience
      • Working knowledge of NFPA 130 Standard for Fixed Guideway Transit and Passenger Rail Systems and or NFPA 502 Standard for Road Tunnels, Bridges, and Other Limited Access Highways
      • ETAP experience
      • REVIT MEP experience
The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
