Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Aviation Construction Inspector for immediate employment. Under general direction of the Senior PM/CM the candidate will perform construction inspection of one or more aviation projects to verify that contractor/subcontractor activities are completed in accordance with contract documents and DFW code and other requirements.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Monitor, inspect and document daily construction activities by contractors
  • Ensure that contractors implement and follow a written quality control plan, construction plans and specifications
  • Monitor and verify testing activities, including commissioning
  • Oversee material testing activities, code inspections, commissioning activities and scheduling of these activities
  • Verify that contractors are following DFW safety and environmental policies
  • Use computer-based construction management software (e.g. Skire)
  • Provide AOA coordination and escort services
  • Ensure environmental aspects and impacts within the span of control of the position are identified and timely communicated to applicable personnel and operational changes to Environmental Affairs

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma
  • 10 years of experience performing similar inspection activities on aviation projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to obtain a SIDA-cleared badge at DFW
  • Must possess a valid Class C driver's license, and be able to obtain certification to drive in DFW's AOA movement area
  • General knowledge of Civil, airfield Electrical and Structural construction
  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project or Construction Management
  • 15 years of relevant work experience
