Job Summary
The AECOM San Francisco office is seeking a Program/Project Manager for the $5 billion BART Extension into San Jose and Santa Clara - commonly called BART Phase 2 (BP2). BP2 includes five miles of tunneling and one mile of above ground track including four new BART Stations. This position will report directly to the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority's Deputy Director for delivery of BP2.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage program tasks including scheduling, cost, estimating, document control, procurement, risk management, value engineering, and design engineering.
  • Responsible to initially work on the pursuit of the project and the proposal and interview for the job
  • Responsible for the successful delivery of BP2 and management of the Program/Project Management Team and interface with the SCVTA client staff and public

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or business
  • Professional Engineering or Architectural Registration
  • 15 years of experience in a program or project management role on major ($500 million or larger) transportation projects, preferably transit projects with Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) funding
  • 5 years ofexperience as a program manager on major ($2 billion or larger) transportation infrastructure program
  • Must have excellent management and personal skills in dealing with staff and client
  • 5 years of experience managing a program/project management team including the following staff and tasks: schedulers, estimators, cost engineers, document controls specialists, engineering, risk management, value engineering, constructability, contract delivery strategy, FTA deliverables, community relations, third party MOU's, development of procurement documents, feasibility studies, etc. on large ($500 million plus) public works capital improvement programs/projects that have multiple funding sources including FTA funding
  • Experience working as a project manager or project controls manager
  • 5 years of experience working on a large capital improvement transit program/project for a public agency
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills and be able to present reports and detailed cost and schedule information in a clear and concise manner to client staff and review panels
  • 5 years of experience managing projects involving tunneling
  • Knowledge of current cost, schedule, and document control software - such as but not limited to Oracle P6, Excel, Prism, SAP, and SharePoint
  • Experience preparing project management plans and other manuals/documents required by the FTA, including carrying out a risk management program
  • Experience working with the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority and/or BART
  • Experience working on FTA funded transit projects
  • Experience working on a transit tunneling project

Preferred Qualifications
  • Must have minimum five years' experience as a program manager on major ($2 billion or larger) transportation infrastructure program, preferably transit
