About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Scientist for employment in the Markham office. AECOM is searching for candidates that have the ability to be a role model, be client-focused, be impactful and be decisive. In this role, entry-level technical new hires are eligible to participate in AECOM's Graduate Development Program (GDP), a 2-year development experience designed to support assimilation into the organization, help with technical development planning toward licensure (or other early technical milestones), and with creating a foundation of knowledge necessary for future career success.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope
  • Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
  • Perform site visits and field observations
  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline (e.g., environmental science, soil science, agriculture, geology or any scientific related field)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with GIS software
  • Strong research and analytical abilities as well as excellent writing and communication skills
