About the Business Line
AECOM's Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions - International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. Job Summary
AECOM is seeking an experienced Technical Writer in support of Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center, Norfolk Va.

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain and brief status of critical jobs concerning the Engineering Department, overhaul, or repairs. Possess a mature understanding of Navy Maintenance and CASREP reporting.
  2. Sort and assess Casualty Report Messages for all surface ships within the MARMC area of responsibility. Report and disseminate an overview report on a daily basis to the Engineering, WFO, and Production Departments.
  3. As the Queue Manager, shall provide services to maintain and update Fleet Tech Assist reporting information databases and applications that are used by CNRMC and MARMC. The contractor shall up-load the overview report to allocate local JCNs to the appropriate MARMC Engineering codes.
  4. Provide support to the Engineering Department by coordinating with Atlantic Fleet Surface Ships Force and Port Engineers, as well as with Surface Ships Force and Port Engineers within the MARMC area of responsibility as applicable to obtain 2 Kilos. Process, screen, and broker 2 Kilos to the appropriate Engineering codes.
  5. Provide TAAS and WEBSKED metric and reporting support in the MARMC command operations center.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree, or equivalent, and 2-4 years of experience in writing, editing and managing technical documentation and operator/maintenance manuals for military systems and equipment.
  • Must have recent and current experience within two (2) years unless designated below.
  • Ability to utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for compiling information for reports and history files and transfer digital pictures from camera to computer and enhance as required and label them for report purposes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  • Must have knowledge/experience with TAAS, WEBSKED, Casualty Report Messages (CASREPs), Job Control Numbers (JCNs), and a command operations center.
  • Must have experience generating and presenting daily reports to management, technical communication regarding CASREPs, and brokering JCNs.
  • Must have knowledge of the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM).
  • Possess a current security clearance.
  • Capable of obtaining a Common Access Card.
