Position: Senior Bid Manager

Salary: Highly ccompetitive plus benefits

Location: Hertfordshire

My client provide 24/7 housing maintenance services to over 16,000 homes in the central England. They employ a direct workforce of 80 multi-skilled engineers and since the contract commenced in March 2014, the company have delivered over 40,000 responsive repairs as well as 5,300 communal repairs.

They are looking to recruit a Senior Bid Manager to join their team based in Hertfordshire. Candidates should have outstanding writing skills and be able to project manage the whole bid process from launch to handover to the delivery team. Reporting to the Director of Procurement you will be responsible for writing and managing the PQQ & ITT process and producing exceptional qualitative submissions. You will be actively working to enhance the quality of bids and will be inputting into clear and effective client presentations by providing creative ideas and initiatives into bids. You will liaise with the client team to effectively portray our service offering, while also effectively coordinating and leading bid team contributors' input.

The Project

Key responsibilities include:

* To work proactively with the business to gather information to produce exceptional written responses that reflect each individual client requirements
* To project manage the PQQ and ITT process to meet client deadlines
* To develop and agree strategies and unique selling points to win individual bids through creative thinking and understanding each client's requirements
* Demonstrate a commercial understanding and liaise with the estimating team
* To maintain an excellent relationship with clients and consultants throughout the bid process
* Attend bidder conferences as required during the bid process
* To manage all post tender clarifications in line with the client's timescales
* To prepare, manage, attend and lead / support site visits in support of each tender opportunity and to meet each client's individual requirements
* To work with the Director of Procurement to identify the interview team and brief them on the opportunity and submission
* To prepare the presentation and attend / lead if required

Essential and desirable criteria

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

* Superb written skills
* Ideally degree educated or qualified by experience
* Confident, amenable approach
* Willing to travel nationwide where business requires but be based in Hertfordshire
* Good team member
* Sector or related sector experience
* Experience of creating and writing effective bid submissions
* Excellent questioning skills
* Experience of using Microsoft Office
