Our client has been established for more than three decades and are recognised globally as market leaders in the checkweigher industry for supply to the food and pharmaceutical sectors. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and highly self-motivated electrically biased multi skilled Field Service professional to complement their established and successful team.
Based around the Brackley / Oxfordshire / Warwickshire region and tasked with covering the UK and Ireland, the Field Service Engineer role involves the installation, PPM and repair or modification of a range of dynamic checkweighing, catchweighing and X-ray scanning equipment across the UK and Ireland, as well as the final configuration on site and related testing and process optimization during the startup of the production process.
With exceptional problem solving and communication skills within a customer facing environment and the ability to work under pressure, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate at least 5 years' experience of working as an electrically biased field service engineer on electro/mechanical equipment or related equipment with IPC interface such as the packaging industry.
With a genuine interest in the industry and technology, you will continuously strive to improve your product knowledge and understanding of current and developing technology within the industry, and will display a professional attitude and a commitment to the organization and customer satisfaction at all times.
Other duties will include supporting the preparation and verification of company systems in compliance with the MID regulation and working with customer technicians who may, in some cases, respond for first line maintenance items, whilst assuming responsibility for continued customer satisfaction as necessary.
Knowledge of IPC serial and Ethernet communication, I/O Interface and the ability to read electrical schematics is essential for the position, as is a full clean UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel extensively around the UK and Ireland as well as occasionally to Germany for product training (with the ability to speak German proving beneficial although not essential), with previous x-ray and weighing experience also proving distinctly advantageous.
