The French operation of a major US property technology and advisory company is seeking a hands on Telecoms Operations Manager to work with establishing and building the business from ground up in Paris, France. The Company works with landlords, agents, and tenants to identify & promote buildings with premium technology offerings. The Company owns and operates a Wired Certification programme, the first ever ratings system for internet connectivity and broadband capacity in buildings. With its HQ in New York the company has certified over 250 million square metres in 30 cities including the Empire State Building and The Shard in London.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
> The Telecoms Operations Manager primary responsibility will be to oversee pre-certification and certification of buildings. This will include:
•Engaging with clients' engineers, architects and advisors to undertake buildings pre-certifications
•Performing QA review of third party engineer's audit findings and observations, as well as managing the process between engineers, ISP partners and property clients
•Advising clients (landlords and agents) about telecommunications, internet, broadband best practices and opportunities for improvement
> Drive partnerships with telecommunications companies in Paris, with the ultimate goal of strengthening both the Wired Certification programme and future business lines. This will involve forming relationships with senior stakeholders at a range of organisations.
> Support Business Development work from a technical perspective by presenting alongside the Director of Business Development to new clients, as needed.
> Be responsible for building operations in non-Paris markets. Depending on interest, progress and performance there is the possibility of working on international expansion as he Company grows in Europe and Asia.
> Help shape the future of the Company by being an active participant in strategy thinking and decision making about innovative future business lines. You will be in a position to act as a thought leader on topics at the intersection of technology and property, both within the Company and with our clients.
Essential Skills & Experience
> Able to demonstrate a balance of commercial industry & technical knowledge, project
management experience, communications skills and analytical skills.
> Experience in working for a telecommunications company, ISP or an advisory firm is a prerequisite.
> Relevant telecommunications and network engineering know-how:
> Familiarity with outside plant and in-building network design
> Ability to interpret building floor plans and telecom diagrams
> Wireless knowledge a plus
> Experience in telecommunications or network engineering, where you will have developed project management skills to be able to balance multiple activities and clients at the same time
> Strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to identify/define and solve problems
> Desire to work in high-growth, start-up-like culture and a passion for innovating in the property connectivity
