Our client is a major player in the food industry and their innovative, automated warehouses hold a wide range of products and systems which offer many a challenge to product design. They are now developing their proprietary, incredibly innovative logistics platform. They are looking for a Design Manager to join their expanding team. |
As a Design Manager you will be growing a team of incredibly innovative design engineers to successfully deliver their increasing portfolio of logistics technology for the future, You will ensure design requests from the R & D team are resourced either by the Ocado design team or outsourced to an appropriate supplier or partner.
This role will create the capability within the company to internalise the design of its core products. You will streamline the design process and formally review designs at critical milestones to ensure product quality; including review of both internal and outsourced designs. In addition you will grow the company's supplier base of designers, contractors, fabricators and manufacturers.
As a Design Manager you must have previous experience in a similar role in one or all of the key design functions of mechanical, electrical, electronic or structural engineering.
